SINFONIE VISIVE – VISUAL SYMPHONIES

Leopoldo Bon torna con una nuova opera in cui coniuga fluidamente la sua mente scientifica e l’occhio fotografico, continuando a dimostrarci come la materia possa essere guardata con la lente dello scienziato e contemporaneamente con il sentimento proprio dell’arte.

Non smette di stupire il tratto pittorico degli scatti di Bon, che sfrutta l’obiettivo per interpretare piuttosto che riprodurre, accordando in risultati armonici le diverse esperienze che hanno formato la sua persona: l’arte pittorica e fotografica, la ricerca scientifica sul legame occhio-mente, lo studio della fisiologia umana.

Come nelle sue raccolte precedenti, la materia si fa forma inattesa e colore ipnotico, ma questa volta accosta ciascuna opera a titoli che evocano immagini differenti: dal metafisico al richiamo sociale, dall’interiorità umana alla natura, fino alla molteplicità del quotidiano.

L’ecletticità di Bon si conferma come un mezzo per mettere in comunicazione le sfaccettature del reale e del surreale.

Leopoldo Bon is back with a new series of works in which he combines his scientific formation and his artistic eye in a continuous demonstration of how matter can be seen through the lens of science, as well as through a quintessentially artistic spirit.

The pictorial trait in Bon’s shots never fails to amaze the observer. He uses the camera to interpret his subjects, rather than to reproduce them, mixing in a harmonious result all the experiences that have shaped his personality: pictorial art, photography, scientific research on the connection between eye and brain and the studies on human physiology.   

As in his previous collections, Bon transforms matter into unexpected shapes and hypnotic colours. This time however he has entitled his works to evoke different images: from metaphysics to the social sphere, from human interiority to nature, up to the multiplicity of everyday life.

Bon’s eclecticism confirms itself as a means by which he establishes a dialogue between the many facets of the real and the surreal.
